Sometimes your product or service becomes too expensive versus newer options. Or perhaps your product becomes obsolete. Or you may lose major clients due to the changing nature of their business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">&#8220;Sometimes the thing you fear the most isn&#8217;t so bad after all.&#8221; This is a line from one of my favorite TV shows, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sho.com\/billions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\">Billions<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">Our Current Business Adversity<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">During the past few years we\u2019ve been dealing with a double whammy. One publishing client eliminated the use of direct mail marketing to focus completely on content marketing and in-bound web-based marketing. Another client, for whom we\u2019ve done thousands of email transmits, is in the process of moving all their email marketing to their in-house CRM software. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">When these significant situations occur it can feel like flying a twin-engine plane that has only one partially working engine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">So, what do you do?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">You can whine and quit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">Or, you can turn the bad news and the newly unleashed staff time into creative energy for new projects and revenue streams.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">Creating Positive Energy<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">For\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">us, this means we need to provide more ways to <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">help our clients<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hippodirect.com\/blog\/creative-marketing-innovation-is-a-team-effort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\">find new customers<\/span><\/a><\/span>, including:<br \/>\n* Social media marketing<br \/>\n* Lead generation<br \/>\n* Custom database creations for use in CRM<br \/>\n* Google ads<br \/>\n* Retargeting ads<br \/>\n* Email newsletters<br \/>\n* Sponsored email promo blasts<br \/>\n* Webinars<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">We&#8217;re also rapidly learning about the podcast business, and could offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hippodirect.com\/podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #3366ff;\">podcast creation<\/span><\/a> and marketing as a service to clients within 6 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;\">My advice to anyone who&#8217;s experiencing business adversity: Embrace the wisdom of Walt Disney&#8217;s quote, \u201cA kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019re in business long enough, you\u2019ll need to overcome real adversity.
