NATIONAL ACADEMIC ADVISING ASSOCIATION NACADA MAILING LISTQUANTITY = 6,034 membersRATE = $100/M FORMAT = ASCII file via email transfer The National Academic Advising Association grew out of the first National Conference on Academic Advising in 1977 and now has over 5000 members representing all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and five other foreign countries. Members represent higher education institutions across the spectrum of Carnegie college classifications and include professional advisors/counselors, faculty, administrators, and students whose responsibilities include academic advising.Membership in NACADA is open to anyone interested in Academic Advising.Members include faculty, administrators, and professional advisors throughout higher education. Current task forces are also exploring potential interest by high school counselors and corporate training advisors. NACADA advances the theory and enhances the practice of academic advising to ensure students' intellectual, personal, and social development. Supports and promotes the creation, application and dissemination of knowledge in the field of advising. Values the talents and contributions of all persons and promotes active involvement of individuals and groups reflective of diverse populations. Serves its constituency of academic program advisors/counselors, faculty, administrators, counselors, and others in academic and student services concerned with the intellectual, personal, and vocational/career needs of students. Nurtures cooperation and coordination of academic advising with other support services in higher educational institutions. |
