Founded in 1957, the Human Factors and
Ergonomics Society is a multidisciplinary
professional association whose members focus
on the study of human characteristics and
capabilities and the application of that
knowledge to the design of the products,
systems, and environments that people use.
The field of human factors ergonomics
investigates human mental and physical
capabilities and ways to apply that knowledge
into design, simulation, testing, training,
and maintenance to reduce error and injury and
increase effectiveness and efficiency.
